After years of treating preventable dental injuries in professional athletes — fractured teeth, jaw trauma, TMJ problems — Dr. Andrew Sarowitz saw the same pattern over and over. Athletes trusting their protection to equipment that wasn't designed with dental science in mind.

As the official team dentist for the Brooklyn Nets and New York Liberty from 2016 to 2022, and working with combat athletes competing in the UFC, PFL, Bellator, and ONE Championship, Dr. Sarowitz witnessed firsthand what happens when mouthguards fail. Not just broken teeth — but jaw misalignment, chronic TMJ issues, and injuries that could have been prevented with proper protection.

So he created Impact Dental Designs: a mouthguard brand designed by a practicing DDS with surgical residency training and over 15 years treating elite athletes.
